“Erin’s exceptional dedication, tireless commitment, and remarkable contributions to Together Co have truly set her apart as an extraordinary asset to our team. From the moment Erin joined us, she hit the ground running, demonstrating an unmatched level of commitment to our cause.
One of Erin’s most outstanding achievements is her remarkable ability to secure grants and funding. Her unwavering determination and resourcefulness have resulted in raising over £100,000 in grants, which has significantly bolstered our efforts to make a positive impact in the community.
Erin’s remarkable multitasking abilities have been a cornerstone of her success. She seamlessly juggles a myriad of responsibilities, ranging from leading social media schedules to meticulously reviewing grants, and even establishing relationships with new corporate partners. Her agility in moving between diverse tasks while maintaining an exceptional standard of quality is truly commendable.
Erin consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that these partnerships thrive, showcasing her dedication to our cause and the people we serve. Her willingness to push herself to the limit was exemplified when she fearlessly signed up for an abseil of the i360 tower.
Beyond her impressive achievements, Erin’s unwavering support for her team is undeniable. She has sacrificed her weekends and evenings to ensure the success of the events we hosted, exhibiting her unparalleled commitment. She doesn’t merely excel individually; she uplifts her colleagues by selflessly aiding them in their endeavours, demonstrating a remarkable sense of camaraderie and togetherness (which is what we are all about!).
Erin’s creativity and artistic flair have added a touch of style to our campaigns. Her ability to produce stunning images and graphics has elevated the visual appeal of our initiatives and amplified our message. We are elated that Erin Rice has transitioned into the role of Fundraising and Communications Officer on a permanent basis within Together Co. Erin’s impact on our organisation has been profound, and her journey with us is only beginning.”
Programme achievements
Working in HR and governance
Aligning her interest in people development with her passion for tackling inequalities in the climate sector, Ritika took up a post as Graduate Trainee in HR & Governance. During her time on placement, she conducted an award-winning research initiative to increase access and upskill diverse talent at The Climate Group, embedding EDI practice across recruitment, selection and people development services and introducing several initiatives including menopause sickness, neurodiversity guidance and pitching research mentoring. Ritika progressed into an HR Team Leader role at Thesocialtalks following her placement year.
Peer coach reflections
“Ritika had proposed some unique […] recommendations to the organisation, which have and will be considered over the next two years. Ritika also showed her passion and excitement for this research topic during the Impact research showcase in London where she gave a speech about her impact report and presented her findings in front of her cohort, Charityworks team and mentors, inspiring others to take on board the recommendations proposed”
From their employer
“Our HR and Governance Graduate Trainee, Ritika Sharma, has had a huge impact since joining us through Charityworks’ Graduate Trainee Scheme. Her skills and knowledge in EDI have been instrumental in helping us improve and grow. We’re grateful for all of Ritika’s hard work and wish her the best in her next adventure. Thank you, Ritika!”
“It’s still a wonderful and, in view of the cost of living, rather miraculous fact that so many young people see a career in the charity sector as the path they want to choose to express their values and commitment to a better world. But how many charities offer “entry level” roles to top talent on a regular basis, supported by robust training, and how many in contrast always say they are looking for someone with previous experience?
Those of us lucky to have our jobs and careers should all have Charityworks on the top of our tongue, to point young people interested in a career in the UK charity sector. In my experience (I have used Charityworks in my last 3 roles, and always been thrilled to have done so) you just go with a job vacancy to Charityworks, and they match it against a young person who they have assessed and prepared for interview. You interview the candidate as you would any vacancy and, if you proceed, you pay a small fee.
When I joined Hospice UK, I lucked out especially big time, as Charityworks placed Matilde at the end of 2022 in our vacancy Executive Assistant role. Her first job after graduation, Matilde has been quite exceptional in this role support myself, the Senior Leadership Team and the Board. [She’s] one of the most talened and popular colleagues I have ever had the privilege to work with. Just under 5% of our workforce [at] Hospice UK joined via Charityworks.
Just how lucky we are was confirmed recently, when Matilde won the Best Impact Research Award for a project she has worked upon while working with us. This was out of a cohort of over 100 amazing projects submitted by Charityworks [trainees] – an incredible achievement.
